About Our Writers

senpai_bill 6thMy name is Bill Antonitis, and I started Moai Martial Arts in 2010.  I write about traditional martial arts, self-defense, and self-improvement on this site.

I have trained in Uechi-Ryu and Shohei-Ryu Karate since 1987 under Ed DeCosta and began studying Gracie Jiu-Jitsu in 2009 with Jay Bell. Lucky enough to grow up with the martial arts, I have felt their positive influence throughout my life and am especially interested in sharing these experiences with others.  Not only do I have over 25 years of experience teaching and training, but I am also a professional educator with a Master’s degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. I have worked over the years to harden my body, sharpen my mind, and develop my spirit and look forward to sharing what I have learned with you.

I also help businesses, non-profits, and other organizations tell authentic stories that help them interact with their clients.  Traditional marketing is lame, and I can help you or your organization create and improve meaningful relationships with the people that matter most.  Please check out what I do at Proof Rocks! if you’d like help getting your martial arts school to the next level.
