Senior Masters Ed and Jean DeCosta have been teaching Uechi-Ryu/ Shohei-Ryu for over 37 years, and are considered to be among the most authentic practitioners in America. Shihan Ed and Jean are both ranked Hanshi, 8th degree black belt. Sensei Jean is the first woman to be honored with the ranking.
