One Minute Bunkai

Here are a few neat videos suggested by one of our readers.  They offer grappling-based interpretations of moves from sanseiryu and seichin.  I love the moves in theory, though I may do things a little differently.  What do you think?

Catching a front kick, going for a sort of inverted heel-hook-type thing. Cool!  (Might want to step over the downed opponent’s leg?)

Double wauke block to hip throw?  Double cool!  (Maybe tough to find an opponent who will get that close without trying to throw you himself?)

Here’s a bonus video that’s just plain cool.  GSP’s reminder of karate’s relevance to MMA and value as a life-long pursuit.  (It’s also fun to watch the little samurai beat him up.  And it’s crazy to watch the little Kyokushin kids duke it out!)

Lucky enough to grow up with the martial arts, I have felt their positive influence throughout my life and am especially interested in sharing these experiences with others. I enjoy working with youth and adults to give back some of what I've received.
